Stay Connected with Providers in the Field
By The Bay Health provides hospice, palliative, pediatric & skilled home healthcare to patients and families in the San Francisco Bay Area. While By the Bay’s providers already worked remotely, traveling to and from patients’ homes, the COVID-19 pandemic made effective online communication even more of a priority.
Sonata Digital worked with By the Bay Health’s marketing & communication team to reimagine its SharePoint intranet with intuitive, mobile-friendly navigation that allowed providers in the field to conveniently access forms, schedules, and contact information for support departments from their mobile phones, without having to pull out a laptop. We also used Power Automate to help automate and centralize various administrative processes that had previously been done manually, with emails and spreadsheets.

Specific features of By the Bay Health’s redesigned intranet included:
  • Mobile friendly interface for staff working in the field
  • Sites for each service line and administrative department with forms, policies, and key contacts
  • Improved blogging functionality for posting alerts and messages
  • Forms library
  • An automated ordering form for PPE
  • A central, searchable directory of staff linked to Microsoft Azure with additional information on their specialties/skills
  • A searchable/filterable list of pharmacies and other services, by hours and location
  • A form to provide updates on which team members are unavailable on any given day
